The race
Two routes, one mountain.
The Mancor Xtreme is a trail running mountain race in Mancor de la Vall, in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. It starts and finishes at Plaça de Dalt in the village, and is organised by the Montaura Trail club and the Mancor de la Vall Town Council together with the Balearic Mountaineering and Climbing Federation.
The XTREME climbs Puig de Massanella, 1,364 m, the second highest peak in Mallorca, and crosses the municipalities of Mancor de la Vall, Alaró and Escorca. The XS stays on the estates around the village: the same atmosphere, half the distance and a quarter of the elevation gain.
Both races follow the FBME Balearic Mountain Running League regulations (in Catalan) and count towards the Balearic Cup (line races).
The two races
27 km and 1,600 m+ over Massanella
It climbs along the Camí des Rafals and the GR221 to the Coll de n'Argentó, tops Puig de Massanella and comes back down by the Pla de sa Neu, the Coll de sa Línia and Ses Rotes. Three aid stations and cut-offs at 3 h 15 min and 5 h.

Getting there
Where to park? 400 m from the finish
The designated car park is at Carrer des Colomer, only 400 m on foot from the finish. The start and finish are at Plaça de Dalt, in the village centre of Mancor de la Vall.
Mancor de la Vall is about 35 minutes from Palma along the Ma-13 and Ma-2130, via Inca.
Gear
What to carry?
In January it can be very cold at altitude in the Tramuntana. The mandatory gear is checked before the start and is different for each race.
- Both races: suitable shoes, bib visible on the front, timing chip, emergency thermal blanket, whistle and a cup or equivalent container.
- XTREME only: also a mobile phone with battery, half a litre of liquid in reserve, food reserve and a windproof jacket.
- No cups, plates or cutlery are provided at any aid station.
Environment
We run through a natural area
- Always on existing, defined paths and trails: no running cross-country or on shortcuts.
- Poles with soft rubber tips, and a spare set.
- Do not drop litter, and avoid noise and disturbing the animals.
- No smoking and no activity involving fire.
- Much of the route crosses two private estates that grant right of way only on race day.
- Racing with headphones or with minimalist or alternative footwear is not allowed.
The race takes place in the Serra de Tramuntana Natural Area, a World Heritage Site. We ask you to respect the environment: whether we can keep passing through every January depends on it.
